Avemco® Continues Aviation Community Support With Donation to Hagerstown Aviation Museum

May 28, 2013 – Avemco Insurance Company recently donated $2,000 to the Hagerstown Aviation Museum to support its acquisition of the classic 1956 Fairchild C-123K aircraft. The donation is part of the Avemco General Aviation Community Support Initiative, which complements Avemco’s focus on aviation safety education as a key component of the company’s nationwide outreach endeavors.

Avemco is the only direct writer of general aviation insurance in the United States and contributes to select non-profit aviation organizations annually, including Build A Plane and the Youth Aviation Adventures organizations. In 2012, the company also facilitated donation of two salvage aircraft engines to the local Hagerstown campus of the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics educational program, as well as several salvage aircraft nationally for educational programs in high schools.

“We’re excited to be able to give back to the local aviation community with this contribution. The Avemco General Aviation Community Support Initiative is part of our outreach effort to ensure that we’re recognizing the needs of general aviation’s essential local, regional and national 501c3 organizations,” noted Marci Veronie, VP of Sales at Avemco.

“We recognize the need for aviation education in schools and for youth nationwide through our long-term support of Build A Plane and recent support of the Youth Aviation Adventures organizations, as well as, the need to give back locally and help preserve our aviation heritage through our new support of the Hagerstown Aviation Museum,” continued Veronie.

“We’re ALL IN when it comes to general aviation because that’s what we’re all about and have been for over 50 years. And this museum is really compatible with our objective of community involvement – since 2005 they’ve been a wonderful place to experience the exciting history of aviation from the local and national levels” added Marci Veronie, VP of Sales at Avemco.
